Therapy jobs and candidates can be found at iHireTherapy.  Offering therapy positions and job seekers at many different levels of experience, we use a unique system in order to match candidates to an employers’ job description.  The following are a list of therapy job titles, including a short description of each that we have listed on our site:

Therapy Director
Therapy directors oversee all aspects of a specific therapy department.  They evaluate existing policies and procedures and make any necessary changes to improve efficiency, productivity, or quality of patient care.  They must have the ability to manage all members of a therapy department and organize all aspects accordingly.

Therapy Manager
Often responsible for implementing all organizational policies, therapy managers are responsible for a number of associates within a given therapeutic department.  They have a great deal of contact with patients and staff, so highly developed communication skills are necessary for this occupation.  A thorough knowledge of all therapy practices is needed to ensure proper patient care is delivered.

Massage Therapist
These therapists undergo formal training in order to learn the art of massage as used for pain control, stress reduction, and promotion of overall health.  They obtain their patients medical history in order to ensure the best possible treatment.  They also make suggestions and apply proper techniques after thoroughly assessing patients’ background information.

Occupational Therapist
Based upon patient records, and care history, occupational therapists administer treatment and training for promoting patient health.  Common programs are geared toward assisting patients to maintain or regain the ability to perform routine actions.  They teach patients the use of supportive equipment and exercises to obtain these goals.

Physical Therapist
Working with rehabilitation techniques, physical therapists evaluate patients referred from other associates and create individualized treatment plans.  They coordinate with other physicians and case managers to ensure excellent care is provided.  Supervision of physical therapy assistants and aides is necessary.

Recreation Therapist
Using a number of different treatments, recreation therapists care for patients’ emotional, physical, and mental well being.  They may work in hospitals, clinics, or long term care facilities, but duties are basically the same throughout.  These specialists work with patients suffering from a number of disabilities and illnesses, and must have thorough knowledge of the therapy field.

Respiratory Therapist
Respiratory therapists focus on patients suffering from pulmonary disorders.  By collecting patient samples and specimens, they are able to determine the levels of necessary gasses within their system.  They measure lung capacity and determine if any impaired functions exist and assist with diagnosis, treatment, and management of these disorders.

Speech/Language Pathologist
With the use of highly specialized equipment, speech and language pathologists assess, treat, and diagnose patients suffering from communication disorders.  They evaluate psychological, social, educational, and medical factors to determine causes and treatments.  While they often direct patient treatments, they may also administer patient care in some facilities.

Audiologist
To identify, determine the severity, and treat hearing problems, audiologists administer numerous tests.  Basic tests include speech reaction and discrimination as well as bone and air conveyance.  In order to organize proper treatments they determine the site of damage or cause of impairment.  Generally, they perform numerous tests and analyze results.

Case Manager
Once patients have been interviewed, and tested, case managers are responsible for creating and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care programs.  They follow a patients’ progression and make comparisons from admission until they are discharged.  To ensure prompt and efficient care is administered, they communicate directly with healthcare associates as well as the patient/ and their family.  

Physical Therapy Assistant
Responsible for properly evaluating patients, and assessing rehabilitative conditions, physical therapy assistants must accurately record and report all findings to supervising physical therapists.  Once treatment programs have been established, they will often work directly with patients in exercising, stretching, and using specialized instruments to reduce pain and improve mobility. 

Occupational Therapy Assistant
The preparation of equipment and documents for the treatment of physically, emotionally, or developmentally challenged patients is an occupational therapy assistant’s primary duty.  To assist occupational therapists, they typically handle many of the clerical tasks involved in patient treatment.  Certification or licensure is required for this occupation.

Recreation Therapy Assistant
With duties similar to recreation therapists, assistants have a great deal of patient contact.  They are often delegated tasks such as patient oversight while on recreational trips and during specialized activities.  Formal training is necessary for entrance to this career.

Respiratory Therapy Technician
In order to treat and manage pulmonary disorders, these technicians work directly under respiratory therapists, sharing many of the same duties.  They collect samples and take measurements for determining causes and severity of the disorders.
