There is no guarantee of hours worked. This position is NOT eligible for benefits. Salary Scale: Scale starts at $24.16. Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change with the market.Sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) is preferred. New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health WAC 246-928-530.Six months to one-year previous hospital based work experience, in the field of Respiratory Care is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of adult and pediatric ventilator management, CPR, EKG, and computers. Must have completed Respiratory Cares department orientation.

Our medical center campus is located in the heart of Seattle in the scenic Capitol Hill neighborhood. This facility offers over 25 multi-specialty and primary care outpatient services and a limited service hospital to a diverse patient community.We are looking for a PFTTo cover vacations plus once a week on Wednesdays, at our Central/Capital Hill campus. The hours are 7:30 - 4:30. At times, coverage would include our Bellevue and Tacoma clinics.General Summary:Performs specific diagnostic pulmonary tests per physician prescription, including complete spirometry, DLCO (Diffusing Capacity of the Lung for Carbon Monoxide), and Body Plethysmography. Serves as a resource to physicians and other staff regarding technical aspects of pulmonary tests. Maintains quality of pulmonary function test results by performing equipment calibration per manufacturers guidelines. Provides timely and accurate reporting of test results.

Preferred: Basic or limited Experience in pulmonary function lab performing complete diagnostic studies, including, complete spirometry, DLCO (Diffusing Capacity of the Lung for Carbon Monoxide), Body Plethysmography. Education Requirements Minimum: Vocational School/Certificate Program  of a  2 year Respiratory Therapy program. Preferred: Bachelors Degree  in Respiratory Therapy or science-related degree.  Additional education in pulmonary diagnostic testing. Certification Requirements Minimum: Required at time of hire Current WA State RCP, Certified Pulmonary Function Tech.
