The incumbent functions as the Administrative Coordinator for the Regional Amputation Center (RAC) in the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service under the clinical direction of the Medical Director, RAC and the general supervision of the Program Director, Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center. In the capacity of a Clinical Specialist within an interdisciplinary care team, the incumbent performs clinical, consultative, teaching and research functions related to assigned team according to principles of cooperative team organization and administration. Supervises and assists with the development of a National Data Base for case management of amputees treated at this facility. May also be involved with PACT (Preservation and Care of Residual Limb) registry. Incumbent provides amputee evaluation to determine client's needs based on assessment by interdisciplinary team for prosthetic intervention, education and training in the use of prosthetic device, and assignment of further treatment by the rehabilitation team. Coordinates clinical care – functions as a coordinator to see that all required pre-screening, testing and documentation have been completed; provides clients and their families with counseling, education, information and training, treatment plan and goals, home program, and post –program adjustment. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from a degree program in physical therapy from an approved college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
