Job Description : The Physical Therapist implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to clients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association. He/she must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.? Help a patient achieve independence in ADL and leisure activities by providing range of motion, strengthening, and functional training following joint replacement surgery. ? Help a patient with osteoporosis to be active and pain-free by developing safe and effective exercise programs to improve function and reduce the risk of fractures.? Provide consultation, evaluation and intervention to prevent skin breakdown (and to heal wounds when breakdown occurs) so that a patient does not develop complications from immobilization.? Assist a patient with a pulmonary diagnosis to better understand and manage the disease process through education, resources, and treatment strategies that can help him achieve the highest level of functional independence.
