Job Title: Recreation Therapist Company: Lakeview Healthcare Systems Location: Effingham, NH Description: Job Purpose:Facilitates rehabilitation and development of patients with brain injuries and neurological disorders by planning and administering recreational therapy.Duties: * Meets client's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations; determining recreational therapy treatment plans in consultation with multidisciplinary treatment team. * Help clients develop interpersonal relationships and confidence for group activities by implementing programs involving community based activities, games, arts and crafts, etc. * Administers recreational therapy by teaching relaxation techniques; instructing patients in calisthenics, stretching and limbering exercises, and individual and group sports; organizing and conducting special outings, such as ball games, sightseeing, and picnics; directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants. * Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to client's physical capacity, skill level, and interest. * Evaluates results of recreational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.MUST BE CERTIFIED AND ABLE TO OBTAIN RECREATIONAL THERAPIST'S LICENSE IN STATE OF NH
