This department provides cardio-respiratory related services with an emphasis on neonatal and pediatric intensive care by managing ventilators, performing multiple therapy procedures and participating in research studies. The Lead Respiratory Specialist, under the general direction of the Director/Manager, Respiratory Care or designee, assists with coordinating the day-to-day operations of the department. Serves as a resource to staff, coordinates the delivery of patient care, and assists with the scheduling and assignment of workload. Assists in maintaining department records and documents. As the state's only specialty hospital, Kapiolani is recognized as Hawaii 's leader in the care of women and children. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Certified Respiratory therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current BLS/HCP card. Current PALS certification. Certified Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (NPS) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current NRP certification. Three years clinical respiratory care or related experience. Demonstrated competency level equivalent to level III status. Prefer red: Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field. Supervisory or lead experience.
