Reviews patient's chart, interviews patient/family and consults with physicians, audiologists and other relevant clinical professionals in order to evaluate patient condition according to standard procedures.4. Counsels patients, family members/significant others regarding communication deficits and instructs them in proper management techniques.5. Monitors patient progress, re-establishes goals and revises treatment plan as necessary. Alerts physicians to changes in patient's condition.6. Maintains clinical records including writing diagnostic reports, progress reports, discharge summaries, re-evaluations and rechecks, summarizing family and professional contact and logging daily statistics and other clinical data.7. Attends patient team conferences, clinics, inservice education classes and meetings as necessary in order to gather and exchange patient/treatment information. Keeps informed of developments in the field in order to maintain and enhance professional expertise.8. Adheres to the Code of Ethics established by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.9. Completes successfully the RICIS training programs and utilizes RICIS in performing job duties, as needed.10. May serve as clinical practicum supervisor for graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES11.
