Overview:
Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various clinical settings, including hospitals and outpatient facilities, and will be proficient in providing respiratory care to patients of all ages. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory therapy principles, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as critical care and emergency medicine.

Requirements:
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and a graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Technology Program.
- Must Maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
- Must maintain current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of North Carolina.
- One (1) year of experience preferred
Essential Functions:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients as prescribed by physicians.
- Adequately performs nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, metered dose inhalers, pulmonary function tests, etc.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and airway management.
- Demonstrates correct intubation procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to properly obtain routine and non-routine EKG's, obtaining acceptable tracings.
- Demonstrates ability to properly obtain Arterial Blood Gas, assuring sample reaches the Laboratory promptly.
- Operate and maintain ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings, including ICU, Med Surg, OB, and Emergency Department.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately in medical records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical terminology standards, and safety protocols.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to respiratory care.
- Experience in hospital medicine, critical care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and pulmonology.
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques and advanced airway management skills.
- Familiarity with ventilator management and patient assessment protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, night shift position. Will typically work twelve (12) hour shifts from 7:00 pm – 7:00 am on a three-four (3-4) day a week on a rotation basis. Rotating weekends and holidays. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of department as required and approved by immediate supervisor.
