Job Description

“Communication is a gift.”  For 20 years, Children’s Speech Care has been dedicated to providing the best possible customized care and support concerning every aspect of our clients’ speech and language needs.  We are motivated to help our clients reach their full potential as productive, happy and integrated members of their community. Our philosophy involves approaching each person as an individual and forming partnerships with family and team members toward achieving each individual’s goals.

CHILDREN'S SPEECH CARE is looking for a full-time SLP to work in a dynamic, team-oriented private speech-language clinic in Torrance, CA. We evaluate and treat children and adolescents, ages 16 months-18 years of age, who present with a variety of etiologies and communication disorders. We also see some adults post stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological disorders. Most of our therapy is individual, but we offer two types of small group therapy: Social Skills Intervention for School-Age Children and Early Speech-Language Intervention for Toddlers in a Mommy, Daddy and Me format. We enjoy individualizing treatment for each client and work closely with parents, caregivers and other team members to optimize our clients' learning and communication potential. To this aim, each therapist has their own treatment room, but in addition, we have specialty rooms for adolescent and adult treatment, group treatment, representational play, and sensory-motor play.

We value our therapists and offer a supportive, enriching and collaborative working environment with reasonable caseloads, lots of materials, and excellent planning and paperwork time. Supervision is excellent. On-going clinical training is provided. Clinical staff all enjoy collaborating, brainstorming, and mentoring. Our administrative staff work closely with our clinical staff and are responsible for billing and scheduling. Our goal is to help you focus on your clients and clinical issues and promote your creative potential as a therapist.

  • A Master's degree in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
  • California state licensure with experience is preferred; however CF-SLPs may apply.
  • ASHA certificate or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Experience with the pediatric population.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

For experienced SLPs who are interested, there is opportunity available to provide supervision.
