Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development.
Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students’ strengths and deficits and prepares written evaluation reports as part of the intake process.
Develop IEP goals and objectives for students evaluated in the intake process.
Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development. The Speech and Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits. Bilingual therapy is provided in Spanish and English as needed.
Provide consultation to classroom staff in the area of speech and language.
Review and report on student progress.
Participate actively as a member of the school’s interdisciplinary therapeutic team, attends regularly scheduled staff and team meetings.
Perform audiometric screenings as needed.
Refer children for additional audiological consultations and medical evaluations when necessary.
Submit all reports in a timely manner.
Submit updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.
Maintain daily records of student progress.
Provide guidance and workshops to parents in order to enhance the development of speech and language skills in the home.
