Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C., (ARA), a dynamic and growing medical practice with seven offices in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking a skilled, energetic, and friendly outpatient physical therapist to join our Physical Therapy department. Clinicians of our Physical Therapy department provide special expertise in the treatment of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, rheumatic and neurological disorders, geriatrics, ergonomic conditions, and neuromuscular syndromes. Our physical therapists are actually encouraged to practice with autonomy as their clinical judgment and treatment skills demand, given the opportunity to interact seamlessly with the interdisciplinary team within the organization, and intentionally afforded significant direct, one-on-one treatment time that is much-coveted by clinicians and patients alike, producing more desirable patient outcomes.

We are seeking you to be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the District of Columbia. We are also seeking you to be patient-focused and detail-oriented and to have a professional demeanor. If you are a recent PT school graduate, we encourage you to apply!

Your new job duties include:

  • Completing patients' evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment notes and discharge summaries in compliance with guidelines established by regulatory Board and maintained by ARA / ARTS
  • Developing and modifying patients' physical therapy treatment programs with autonomy and in coordination with physicians
  • Administering outpatient physical therapy treatment programs as established per findings of patients' physical therapy evaluations and consistent with physicians' physical therapy orders, including manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education, postural education, exercise instruction and progression, and other evidence-informed practices
  • Collaborating with fellow Physical Therapist team members in patient care as appropriate and in professional growth
  • Conferring and collaborating with physicians, medical staff, and other members of interdisciplinary team on patient care issues as needed
  • Submitting bills to patients/insurance companies for services provided in accordance with established procedures and with support of Business Office staff, and rectifying billing issues with Business Office staff as needed
  • Educating patients and family members in strategies for care at home, including performance of home exercise programs and other self-management techniques
  • Attending required meetings and clinician in-services
  • Supervising and collaborating with Physical Therapy Aides/Technicians as needed
  • Performing periodic internal documentation audits

Education & Experience:

  • Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy required
  • License to practice Physical Therapy in Washington, DC required

As a valuable member of our team, you will be eligible for a generous compensation and benefits package that includes very competitive pay, paid leave, medical and dental coverage, life and disability coverage, 401(k) with employer matching, tuition assistance, generous continuing education allowance, regular interdepartmental physical therapist in-services, mentoring program, and more! We will also be transitioning to 4-DAY WORK WEEKS in June 2022!
