Duties:1. Develop plan of care for patients with neuromusculoskeletal disorders based on and in collaboration with physician orders. 2. Administers appropriate physical agents within physician protocols, patient's medical history and therapist's knowledge of indications and contra-indications including Electrotherapy, sound energy, heat/cold therapy, hydrotherapy and JOBST compression 3. Prescribes exercise plan and provides demonstration, instruction, and cues for active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait/functional training; performs therapeutic exercise with and without equipment 4. Adapts conventional techniques to meet patient needs; educates patients and family members 5. Performs manual therapy techniques utilizing hands on and tool assisted techniques with understanding of indications and contraindications and precautions and including, but not limited to: soft tissue mobilization, extremity and joint mobilization, medical exercise therapy, myofascial release and craniosacral therapy 6. Establishes plan of care and documents progress, treatments, assessment, and discharge summary. 7. Maintains equipment through implementation of preventive maintenance and repair 8. Evaluates, records and reports on patient's progress for review by other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team 9. Develops regularly schedule and not scheduled in-services for sharing knowledge and information and techniques with other clinicians 10. Instructs patients and families in appropriate home exercise programs. 11. Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives 12. Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skills and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor 13. Performs all other duties as requested
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist 6 months previous clinical experience Current BLS Certification
