Summary:

Delivers an accurate course of radiotherapy in association with CT-Simulation and Ultrasound modalities.

Responsibilities:

Patients and families are served by providing direct patient care services. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensures that contacts with physicians and other healthcare members are friendly, helpful, and courteous.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an AMA or CAHE approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• Non required but preferred.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

• Certified with American Registry of Radiological Technology for Radiation Therapy or registry eligible.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Basic dosimetry skills, good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, and good organizational skills. Proficient skills in techniques of mold room, accelerator and simulator, and dark room use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Direct and indirect exposure to airborne and blood borne pathogens and/or other potentially infectious diseases. Exposure to Cerro bend fumes and dark room chemicals. Stressful work periods. Limited exposure to radiation. Emergency callback rotation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

• Walking and standing throughout shift, lifting patients with assistance daily. Speech, hearing, and sight required. Digital dexterity required. Lifting of cerrobend blocks up to 50 lbs.
