Job Summary:
Primary instructor responsible for delivering lecture and laboratory instruction in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) courses aligned with clinical expertise. Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and assessment methods to uphold curriculum standards and support student success. The selected candidate(s) will be hired by May 1, 2026, to meet accreditation requirements, with student instruction beginning with the program's first cohort in 2027. This position will be in person in the South Haven campus.
Essential Functions:
Teach assigned course(s) in area of expertise.
Uphold academic and clinical practice standards.
Develop and maintain effective course materials.
Provide timely evaluation and feedback on student performance.
Maintain availability for student support.
Monitor and report student progress and concerns.
Maintain complete and accurate student records.
Refer students to college resources for additional support.
Participate in regular faculty performance evaluations.
Support program assessment and accreditation processes.
Attend departmental meetings and participate in program activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Duties: Accountabilities:
Under the direct supervision of the PTA Program Director, each adjunct faculty member is responsible for satisfying the educational, administrative, and programmatic requirements inherent in their position.
Job Specifications:
A minimum of an Associate's degree is required or an applicable license and clinical experience. Qualified candidates must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant license. Candidates must demonstrate current clinical experience in physical therapy. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a clear commitment to student success.
