Job Description
The Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant Director will assist the Senior Director with administration of the Occupational Therapy Department; perform program evaluations and subsequent planning and execution, oversee maintenance of patient records, and supervise staff who lead Occupational Therapy in Outpatient, Inpatient, satellites, Kennedy Krieger School and Kennedy Krieger community programs. The Assistant Director leads intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating students, staff, and community agencies; oversees clinical supervision of occupational therapists at various levels, and assists the senior director with the design and operation of clinical, administrative, training and research activities within the occupational therapy department.
Responsibilities- Must possess and maintain licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Maryland.
- Must possess a high level of clinical skill and leadership ability to effectively and efficiently manage and lead a large group.
- *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by the Institute.
- *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
EDUCATION:
- Must be graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy with a minimum basic Masters/advanced Masters in Occupational Therapy.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a minimum of five years licensed experience in Occupational Therapy, at least three years of which include the coordination and supervision of students and clinical staff.
- Experience in implementing program development, program evaluation, and evidence of strong leadership.
- Previous experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation management and treatment is required.
