Physical Therapist Assistant

Wabash Miami Area Program for Exceptional Children is a Special Education Cooperative serving Manchester Community Schools, MSD of Wabash County, North Miami Community Schools, Peru Community Schools, and Wabash City Schools. Positions hired by Wabash Miami Area Program serve multiple corporations. Cooperative positions hold contracts with the LEA, MSD of Wabash County.

Job Requirements:

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistance License for the State of Indiana
• All field work requirements
• Good health and physical strength to work with students with severe physical limitations
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with educators, parents, and students

Performance Responsibilities:

• Implement therapeutic procedures for which qualified, as designated by the supervising physical therapist
• Consult with the supervising therapist concerning implementation and status of therapy goals (positioning, equipment, etc)
• Assist in monitoring work and school environments for accessibility
• Help develop an awareness of individual students needs and assists the supervising therapist in monitoring those needs
• Assist with instructing the educational staff concerning the use of adaptive equipment, positioning programs, and integration of therapy goals into classroom and academic activities to enhance function
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and policies
• Maintains Confidentiality, Adheres to all Corporation guideline associated with confidentiality and social media use
