Job Responsibilities Some responsibilities associated with this role include:
- Delivering quality patient care, excellent communication and customer service
- Assisting ophthalmologist in surgery suite with LASIK procedure
- Applying drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes
- Educating patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drugs
- Ensuring confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records
- Operating various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment
- Verifying schedule times with patients
- Preparing charts
- Handling pre-admission and consent forms
- Counseling patients on their insurance and payment options
- Receiving and securing payments from patients
- Retail/sales experience is preferred, but not required
- Vision experience is preferred, but not required
- Demonstrates initiative, drive and follow-through
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance as needed and work well under pressure
