Job Summary
This role involves working with students across all grade levels to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, a passion for supporting student success, and the ability to tailor interventions to meet individual needs. The SLP will split their time between Trinidad School (60%) and Blue Lake School (40%) Conduct screenings and assessments to identify speech, language, and communication challenges in students. Develop, implement, and case manage individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring speech and language support. Provide direct instruction and intervention services in individual, small group, or classroom settings. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication needs in academic and social contexts. Maintain thorough documentation of assessments, progress notes, and communications with educational partners. Monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting strategies as needed. Stay informed about best practices, techniques, and research in speech-language pathology. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, professional development, and school events.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders. Valid California certification and/or license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Experience working with children in a school setting. Experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities. Knowledge of current methods, tools, and technologies in speech therapy. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in SEIS and IEP case management.
