We areNOT a Host School for J-1 Applicants.**PERSONNEL:**Speech Therapist**QUALIFICATIONS:**- **Education will include current Arizona Standard Speech-Language Pathologist Certification and current Arizona Department of Health Speech-Language Pathologist Licensure. American Hearing and Speech Association Clinical of Competence is preferred.**```{=html}```- Demonstrates knowledge of specific problems of students with speech, language, and/or hearing disorders to include:1. Disorder of language comprehension and expression (syntax, semantics, morphology);2. Articulatory (phonological) disorders;3. Disorders of auditory perception and auditory memory;4. Fluency and rate disorders; and5. Voice disorders.- Demonstrates knowledge of speech/language acquisition and development; of anatomical structures and their functions related to speech/language mechanism and process.- Identify students through screenings who are in need of a speech/language evaluation.- Perform speech/language evaluations according to State Department of Education Rules and Regulations/Federal guidelines.- Write appropriate speech and/or language programs for each student through an Individualized Education Plan in compliance with the State Department of Education.- Participates in multidisciplinary and I.E.P. conferences, completes I.E.P. according to team input, explains annual goals and specific objectives, and clarifies programs to parents.- Write progress reviews on each students progress during each grading period. Updates I.E.P. annually and makes changes as appropriate, notifying parents of any changes made.- Advises when additional I.E.P. conferences are needed; follow-up objectives; changes in program or schedule; planning students dismissals; enlisting parents and teachers to use home/classroom speech carry-over programs.- Performs pre and post-tests as necessary to measure students progress in speech/language areas; keeps tracking sheets updated to chart progress on an ongoing basis.- Demonstrates knowledge of time management and case scheduling with consideration to age, type of disorder, time available, and location of schools.- Communicates and effectively works with the Special Education Director, parents, regular classroom teachers, and other specialists as necessary to ensure that programs are integrated meaningfully for students.- Follows school discipline program to help maintain high standards of pupil behavior.- Participates in faculty meetings and other committees (SIT) as designated by the Director of Special Education or building principal.- Orders classroom materials and supplies, keeps inventory, supervises the use of equipment of students, reports items needing repair, and maintains school property.- Maintains professional competence through participation in school services and other training.- Act as a resource of materials and information to staff, parents, and community in the area of speech/language.- Prepares and maintains reports, records, and files in accordance with District, State, and Federal Guidelines. Maintains proper security and confidentiality.- Cooperates/coordinates with other professional service providers to ensure quality service, including proper timelines.- Complies with District, State, and Federal timelines and regulations.**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:** *This description is intended to indicate the kinds of duties andresponsibilities that may be required of employees given this title.
