SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for completing a physical therapy evaluation for each referred patient and for creating and implementing a physical therapy care plan based on the completed evaluation to restore a patient’s function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability.

BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in Healthstream Policy Manager.

Required to work with the director of Rehab Services, regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Rehab Services Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of and degree holder from a Physical Therapy Education Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education

Preferred experience: 12 to 18 months related experience, excluding clinical affiliations required to complete a degree

Certifications: Current Arkansas PT license in good standing required. Current CPR certification

Preferred Education: Master’s or DPT Degree

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to: communicate effectively, orally and in writing; focus with attention to detail, solve problems and make decisions; show compassion to those in pain/functional loss; handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Must be able to stand and walk, and bend, stoop and twist, push, pull and occasionally lift up to 250lbs for up to 8 hours each day. Requires repetitive hand movements. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must have good manual dexterity. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and PC mouse to utilize computer software for patient care documentation.

Work Environment
Patient care setting: Acute care hospital. Occasional outpatient setting, as needed.

There is potential risk for exposure to communicable diseases and blood or other body fluids.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Direct patient care staff: Wednesday – Saturday, 10-hour acute care shifts.
