Webster University is seeking a visionary Program Director to develop and lead our Doctor of Physical Therapy program in St. Louis, a city known for its rich culture, passionate sports fans, and central location for travel. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new program, build a dynamic team, and make a lasting impact in the field of physical therapy education. The Department of Advanced Clinical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Associate Professor and Doctor of Physical Therapy to serve as the Founding Program Director. This twelve (12) month academic position will begin with the 2025-2026 academic year, with a negotiable start date.
In addition to teaching, The Founding Program Director will lead the development and implementation of the DPT program, including submission of application for candidacy as part of the accreditation process. The director will oversee the development of evidence-based curriculum, manage daily program operations, recruit and mentor faculty, foster clinical partnerships with the DCE, and work closely with faculty, staff, and students to support student success. A teaching load is expected and may be adjusted based on the demands of the director's role. Applicant must have earned an academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in a related field. ABD status will be considered. Applicant must be a licensed physical therapist, eligible for licensure in Missouri, and have a minimum of six years of full-time higher education experience (upon submission for application for candidacy), with a minimum of three years of full-time experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE-accredited entry-level physical therapist education program. Applicant should have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and scholarship, demonstrated teaching ability, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and healthcare.
