JOB TITLE: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education PAY GRADE: Professional (1)
DEPT/SCHOOL: Matador Special Services Dept DAYS EMPLOYED: 187
DATE REVISED: November 2024 PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Evaluate referred students with disabilities; develop and implement therapy programs; and to provide consultative services to school personnel and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
• Licensed by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners TBOTE

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of rehabilitation procedures, activities, and equipment in occupational therapy
• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
