About ECU Health Chowan Hospital
ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Position Summary
Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist through
- performing treatment
- communicating with the supervising PT and other health care professionals
- appropriate documentation
Participates in departmental/team quality improvement activities
Delegates appropriate tasks to PT technicians and supervises
Responsible for education of self, peers, patients, and students and assists with new employee orientation
Assists with or performs special projects.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Degree or higher
High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education
Specify: Physical Therapist Assistant
Registration or Certification:
North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy
Other Information
PRN coverage as needed at both ECU Bertie and Chowan campuses, acute and outpatient locations, weekend rotation; average once a month.
