The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time position of Physical Therapist, beginning the 2025-2026 school year.

Salary Range: $42,300.00-$88,830.00 (Salary is dependent on years of experience and educational level) This position is part of the Certified Bargaining Agreement and placement on the salary matrix will be limited to ten years of service/experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a Baccalaureate, Masters, PHD Level Physical Therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Maintain current Montana License.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and adhere to a daily schedule for treatment, consultation, and meetings.
  • Evaluate and determine the need for physical therapy educationally relevant services for students referred to physical therapy.
  • Write reports based on the PT assessments and provide copies as per district policy.
  • Participate, plan, and assist in the completion of the ER/IEP team process, including collaborating for goal and objective development, placement decisions, and the need for related services.
  • Provide physical therapy services for students who qualify for physical therapy as a related service (as determined by the educational team) to support the students special education.
  • Maintain measurements of students progress in therapy and report such in accordance with Districts policy.
  • Communicate with clinics, physicians, and other therapists when appropriate.
  • Communicate with parents to assure their understanding and participate in the childs therapy program.
  • Provide consultation for school staff regarding an individual students program, disabilities, and positioning, handling, general precautions at recess, P.E./Health Enhancement and transportation.
  • Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants and PT students assigned to the PT Department. (Refer to Guidelines for the Provision of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Services and Montana State Laws).
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education to ensure professional competence and meet state licensing requirements.
  • Carry out other duties as required by administrator and department.
  • Maintain confidentially of those served.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the Physical Therapy Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate successful experience in public school setting and/or related experience in pediatrics (one to two years preferable).
  • Have knowledge of child development, school-related therapeutic interventions, behavior and management and assistive technology (preferred).
  • Possess an understanding of the role of the physical therapy in a school setting (preferred).
  • Valid drivers license and vehicle.
