Supervisory Recreation Specialist

This position is located in the Recreational Services Division and reports to the Chief of Resident Services. The incumbent is to serve as supervisor of the Recreation Department, with responsibility for the overall diverse programming, financial and personnel management of the division's facilities and programs offered to the Home residents, employees and guests.You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
CERTIFICATION: Applicants must currently possess and maintain a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential, issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
AND
Specialized Experience for the GS-12 : You must have at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized experience is defined as:
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

- Overseeing staff (e.g. develop performance standards, disciplinary issues, and/or schedules)
