Job Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: working as a team to maintain responsible attitudes, analyzing cytological specimens to provide quality results and using resources efficiently.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Complies with the department policies/processes/procedures to provide accurate results, quality
products and services with 2 errors per year.
Assures valid results as evidenced by zero patient or sample identification errors in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of laboratory procedures.
Understands and applies sample quality control and equipment quality control per department
policy as measured by review of quality control logs with 5 errors per year.
Complies with "I CARE" values as measured by no positive disciplinary action.
Manages daily workload in a productive manner.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: None
- Licensure: As required licensure by the State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA guidelines.
- Certification: Appropriate certification by the ASCP or other similar accrediting agencies.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Excellent human relations skills.
o Excellent organizational skills.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Strong computer skills.
o Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
o Must be able to respond to a "call in" if needed within 30 - 45 minutes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
