As part of our commitment to student success, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team.

Position Overview: The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work collaboratively with our certified occupational therapist assistants to provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges. The OT will evaluate students and make recommendations to the IEP team, support the implementation of individualized treatment plans, assist in assessing student progress, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and other areas of occupational performance.
  • Target individualized goals tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and other areas of occupational performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with the supervising occupational therapist.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student-centered goals and accommodations.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies for promoting students' independence and success in educational and daily living activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas License as an Occupational Therapist from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, and occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of diverse students.
