Licensed Massage Therapist- Ragsdale

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and professional Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various massage techniques and a commitment to providing high-quality therapeutic services. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic wellness environment while maintaining autonomy over scheduling and client interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional massage therapy services tailored to clients' individual needs.
• Conduct client consultations to assess medical history, physical conditions, and wellness goals.
• Perform various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, & sports.
• Educate clients on post-massage care, stretching techniques, and overall wellness practices.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and relaxing environment for clients.
• Ensure proper draping techniques are applied at all times to uphold professionalism, client comfort, and industry standards.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Manage scheduling, client records, and payment processing independently.
• Maintain required certifications, licensure, and liability insurance as an independent contractor.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Massage Therapy License in the state of North Carolina.
• Must have professional liability insurance, with Mary Perry Ragsdale Family YMCA listed as an additional insured party.
• Must have at least one year of experience working in a professionally licensed massage therapy establishment within the past three years.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various massage modalities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage client relationships effectively.
• Must provide own massage equipment and supplies (unless otherwise agreed upon).

Compensation:

• The licensed massage therapist will retain all earnings generated from their services. Their only financial obligation will be a formal rental agreement for the designated space, with a monthly fee of $130 for the 120 sq. ft. room.

• The licensed massage therapist, in collaboration with the Mary Perry Ragsdale Family YMCA Aquatics Director, will establish rates for various massage types and durations. Once finalized, these agreed-upon rates, along with the therapist's contact information, will be published on the Mary Perry Ragsdale Family YMCA website to help with marketing the therapist's practice.

• The independent contractor massage therapist will be responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
