Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Long Term Sub 1 year

Cownay Grammar School has an opening for a 2-day week COTA. The long-term substitute position if for the entire '250'26 school year.

The Occupational Therapist familiar with the caseoad will provide the supervision.

The COTA provides school-based occupational therapy services to support the implementation of a student's individualized education plan (IEP) to assist students with disabilities in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory motor processing skills and activities of daily living skills to support the student in their least restrictive environment in an educational setting as well as on job sites and/or out in the community.

Responsibilities and Duties:Implementation & Planning of Services:Assist in implementing the treatment programs or portions of programs as planned.Assist students with occupational therapy.Assist in the collection of information needed to evaluate student performance.Assist in formulating goals for occupational therapy services.Prepare and maintain student progress reports and other pertinent information as directed by the occupational therapist.Attend parent/teacher conferences, IEP meetings and other meetings as directed.Perform other duties as assigned.

Adaptability:Be available for daily assignments as scheduled by the school administration and supervising occupational therapist.Adapt to different teaching environments, subjects, and grade levels, often on short notice.

Collaboration:Communicate effectively with teachers, providing feedback about student performance and information about the generalization of skills.Work with the supervising occupational therapist to stay informed about student needs, plan for service implementation and upcoming meetings.
