Clinical Associate Faculty (Director of Clinical Education) - Physical Therapy

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Eastern Washington University (EWU) invites applications for a full-time (9-month) Clinical Associate Faculty appointment to begin August 18, 2025. This faculty member will serve as the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) with primary responsibility for the clinical education components of the DPT curriculum including integrated and full-time clinical experiences.

The primary role of the DCE is to serve as a liaison between the program, students, and clinical education sites. The DCE responsibilities are to develop, plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, monitor, and measure the results of the clinical education program in coordination with academic and clinical faculty. In this role, the DCE will advocate for students during clinical education experiences, communicate effectively with students and clinical instructors, and empower students to achieve their highest level of proficiency during clinical experiences. The DCE will travel as necessary to meet with students and clinical instructors, and to establish and/or maintain strong working relationships with clinical partners. As a core faculty member, the DCE will participate in scholarship and service activities as required by our accrediting body.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate clinical education experiences during years 2 and 3 of the curriculum
  • Advise DPT students regarding the clinical site selection process
  • Provide service to the university/community/PT profession

The DPT Program is located at EWU Spokane, a health sciences campus with state-of-the-art space and facilities. The campus is located next to downtown Spokane, and is within walking distance to trails along the Spokane River. Spokane is the heart of the Inland Northwest, with excellent restaurants, theaters, shopping, skiing, hiking, lakes, and high-quality schools and affordable housing. The Spokane campus is a satellite of EWU's main campus in Cheney, WA. The DPT Program is 2 years 9 months in length, has 9 full-time faculty members, and admits 38 students each fall. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.

The expected salary upon hire is $90,282. In addition to the salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement.
