Position Summary

The Department of Rehabilitation Science in the School of Public Health and Health Professions ( SPHHP ) is recruiting one 10-month, state-funded, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor .

Responsibilities include:

Teaching in UB's Occupational Therapy BS/MS program (typical teaching load up to 12 credit hours per semester depending on amount of scholarship and service)

Contributing to all programs within Occupational Therapy and the Department of Rehabilitation Science

Mentoring OT student research groups-advising students

Contributing to ongoing curriculum quality improvement

Demonstrate excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly activities; work towards professional growth to achieve excellence throughout academic career

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching, scholarship and service mission of the program. Knowledge of higher education and contemporary clinical practice are essential along with research experience and excellent communication skills.

The Department of Rehabilitation Science at UB has a longstanding history of excellence in clinical education in programs leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the BS/MS in Occupational Therapy, and the PhD in Rehabilitation Science, with a post professional OTD program in development. The PT and OT entry-level programs have enjoyed continuous accreditation for more than 70 years. The OT program is highly competitive with a class-size of approximately 40-50 students, and received a full 10-year accreditation from ACOTE in 2017. Minimum Qualifications

Post-professional doctoral degree in related eld (for example and not limited to: OTD, EdD, PhD)

Licensed OT eligible for New York licensure

Knowledge of higher education and contemporary clinical practice

Research experience

Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

PhD or equivalent highly preferred

Expertise working with adults with physical, cognitive, and/or mental health challenges

Physical Demands

Salary Range

$70,000 - $90,000

Additional Salary Information

Annual salary commensurate with qualification and rank of appointment.
