Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Special Focus: Neurological Rehabilitation, Balance & Fall Prevention
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. While this role includes treating a diverse patient population, there is a strong emphasis on neurological conditions, balance training, and fall risk reduction .
This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA with a passion for working with patients facing mobility challenges—especially those recovering from stroke, Parkinson’s disease, vestibular disorders, or age-related balance decline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients with a wide range of diagnoses
- Provide hands-on support during therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance-focused interventions
- Assist in neuromuscular re-education, proprioceptive training, and functional mobility exercises
- Monitor and document patient performance, reporting observations to the supervising PT
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention strategies, and safety awareness
- Contribute to a patient-centered, outcome-driven care environment
- Ensure treatment sessions are conducted safely, efficiently, and with compassion
Preferred Clinical Experience:
- Neurological rehabilitation (e.g., stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s)
- Vestibular and balance dysfunction
- Fall risk assessment and prevention strategies
- Familiarity with standardized assessments
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Current PTA license (or eligible) in the state of practice
- Strong clinical judgment and understanding of therapeutic best practices
- Excellent communication, time management, and patient engagement skills
- Passion for helping patients regain independence and confidence
