Overview
We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The COTA is responsible for providing quality rehabilitative occupational therapy under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist to patients with primarily conditions involving musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, psychiatric deficiencies and to promote excellent customer service while adhering to state and federal guidelines.
Demonstrates therapy for the nurse, Home Health Aide, family member or other responsible persons who may assist the patients with their Occupational Therapy program as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Reinforces teaching and guides those assisting in the home program to ensure high quality service and promote motivation of patient, family and caregivers' participation in therapy home program.
Participates in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate the care of the patient and family, exchange information and problem solving, and receive staff support and education.
About You
Successful completion of a college program for Certification Occupational Therapy Assistants that leads to an associate degree and that has approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Is eligible to take or successfully complete the entry-level certification for occupational therapy assistants developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
One year's experience in hospital or home health required.
