Job Summary and Qualifications

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)is responsible forperforming comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians.This role is responsible forall aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.

What you will do in this role:

  • Complete videofluoroscopicswallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner

  • Develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.

  • Treat patientsin accordance withSpeech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice.

  • Perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately andcommunicatesresultstimelyto allappropriate membersof the healthcare team.

  • Formulate a teaching plan based onidentifiedlearning needs andevaluateseffectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching asappropriate.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathologyrequired

  • Current SLP license in state of Tennesseerequired

  • AHA BLS certification required within30 daysof employment

  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Patient, Staff, Physicians, Communityrequired
