This role supports Cleveland Clinic's mission of providing clinical based care to our patients using non-pharmaceutical manual therapy techniques to help with pain relief, increase mobility, and increase quality of life. We are looking for a PRN (as needed) LMT/Chiropractor assistant. This role will include job responsibilities such as a ssisting our chiropractor team with patient care, performing chair massages for caregivers and providing 1:1 (50min) Therapeutic Massages for patients.

A caregiver in this position works 7 : 3 0am5:00am or 8 :00 a m 3 : 3 0pm. A minimum of 20 hours a month/ 4 shifts a month are required for this role. (PRN ROLE)

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including techniques that provide deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology, and hydrotherapy for Chiropractic patients.

  • A dminister therapeutic services, including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and stretching and strengthening activities (Under the direction of the chiropractic physician).

  • Work within the Scope of Practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Unlicensed Supportive Personnel under the Ohio Revised Code

  • Interview patients to determine medical history, condition, desired results, and appropriate modality .

  • Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes, or terminates treatment based on feedback.

  • D ocument patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results.

  • Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile, and Organizational state.

  • Assist patients to safely perform activities related to the development of strength and endurance

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy training program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • 1 year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Experience working in the health care field

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended times.

  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.

  • Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
