Compensation: Commensurate with salary range on the MCSD Salary Schedule.
Contracted Days per Year: 185 Days

Job Summary: Perform a variety of clerical duties and assist with physical treatment programs and other activities in support of responsibilities of the Therapist; administer treatment and implement programs as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the physical therapy field.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of clerical duties and assist with physical treatment programs and other activities in support of responsibilities of the Therapist.
- Administer treatment and implement programs as assigned.
- Assist the Therapist with therapy as directed; provide routine therapy programs for children.
- Support students with mobility challenges, including safe lifting, transferring, and positioning techniques.
- Assist with preparing reports as directed. Document student progress.
- Ensure accurate and confidential documentation is maintained according to school and district policies.
- Communicate with parents and school personnel in establishing individualized programs.
- Recommend individual equipment needs and modifications to the Therapist; assist in adapting, fabricating and maintaining equipment as necessary.
- Participate in providing in-service programs for school district personnel; serve on education committees related to therapy services as assigned.
- Stay current with best practices, school policies, and therapy-related professional development.
- Share observations and collaborate with team members regarding student needs and goals.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
- Requires activities involving exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
