Recreation Aide

DEPARTMENT: Parks Department JOB TITLE: RECREATIONAL AIDE

STATUS: Part-Time (Seasonal) SALARY: $11,145.95

JOB DESCRIPTION

General tasks to include light sweeping and mopping; replacing lavatory supplies; disposal of waste paper/trash when necessary, indoors and outdoors.

• Participate in and assist with park-related public events and/or promote park recreation.
• Secure buildings upon arrival and departure for park-related events.
• May assist in scheduling and/or coordinating recreation events; occasionally be available on weekends for recreation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent required. The ability to multitask. Able to establish effective working relationships while treating members of the public, fellow City of Gary employees, and representatives of outside agencies with courtesy and respect.
