What Youll Do

  • Provide speech language pathology diagnostic and treatment services using selected standardized and informal assessment procedures to determine the nature, severity, and prognosis for rehabilitation of individuals with communication disorders. This includes training in communication, cognitive, dysphagia, and other related service activities for individual clients and client groups. Act as a communication and dysphagia specialist and resource for clinical teams.
  • Ensure individual assessment and participation with goal identification, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plan. Treatment includes individual and group settings.
  • Completes timely documentation of daily treatment notes, progress reports at funding required intervals, initial evaluation, discharge summaries, home programs, and consultation notes as indicated.
  • Monitor individuals progress and maintain accurate records of treatment through data collection and treatment reports as assigned.
  • Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team for assigned individuals. Participates in individual goal development, coordination of services, discharge planning, and family education as needed
  • Provides education and monitoring to direct care staff, families, and other team members, in the provision of speech and language activities; trains and supervises staff in the provision of speech assistant services if employed at location.
  • Attends and verbally presents at team meetings, clinical reviews, staff meetings, and in-services. Attends department meetings. Participates in program development.

Work Schedule

20 hours per week

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with flexible scheduling options

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program with active licensure in Michigan
  • Possesses ASHA Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology or is currently completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with consumers having special physical, emotional, social, behavioral and vocational needs because of neurological disability/TBI
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, update and document consumer treatment programs
