Occupational Therapist Per Diem Weekends

NWH is recruiting for a per diem occupational therapist in the acute care/inpatient setting to cover shifts primarily on the weekends (and occasional weekdays). A minimum of working 2 weekend shifts per month is required (this may be a combination of 2 Saturdays or 2 Sundays, or 1 of each on the same/different weekend).

In this role, the OT will:
Perform examinations, development treatment plans and establishes treatment goals with patient input
Perform and apply interventions for follow-up visit
Independently manage a patient assignment
Provide care to adult med/surg patients, with majority in general and complex medical, post-op orthopedics, post-op general and vascular surgery, and other areas as needed (such as ICU, Emergency Department)

Candidates should have primary attributes that include:
Strong willingness to collaborate closely with their fellow occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the clinical and non-clinical care team
Being flexible and willing to adapt to evolving requests/priorities during the workday
Strong customer service skills
Commitment to understand and fulfill the mission and goals of Inpatient Rehab Services and NWH as a whole

Qualifications
At least 1 year of clinical experience in either acute care, acute rehab, or home care clinical settings is preferred.
Must have current license in Commonwealth of MA and be in good standing with Board of Allied Health Professions.

NWH Inpatient Rehab offers a comprehensive training and mentoring program for all clinicians during their initial employment that is tailored to their clinical experience, knowledge, and skills.

-Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities.

-Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.

-Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting as needed.

-Provide education to patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises they can do at home.

-Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.

-Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.

-Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay current with new techniques and best practices.
