This role offers a consistent schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , including participation in a weekend and holiday rotation .
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist at UPMC Muncy, you will provide expert assessment and treatment services to patients across a variety of settings within the Rehabilitation Institute. You’ll work with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This position also offers opportunities to contribute to clinical education and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Supervise and collaborate with occupational therapy assistants to ensure effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members regarding patient progress.
- Provide patient and family education, including home exercise programs and care instructions.
- Participate in student supervision and clinical education programs as needed.
- Stay current with licensure requirements through ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Rotate through various treatment areas to support organizational needs.
- Attend staff meetings and in-service training sessions to stay informed and engaged.
