The emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with board certified physicians and advanced level practitioners who are well-trained to treat emergency needs. MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is certified as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Speech Therapist.
As a Speech Therapist at MercyOne, you will plan, administers, implements, and evaluates speech therapy for all appropriate programs and services within the PM & R Department, for all patient age groups. Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with department protocol. The age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.

General Requirements:
- Must be able to give clear instructions to individuals and groups ranging from infant to geriatric.
- Must be able to plan day-to-day activities and work independently.
- Must be able to put patients at ease and make them comfortable.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively work with other hospital employees and guests.
- Must demonstrate the ability to interact with others in a helpful and courteous manner.
- Must be competent in providing clinical care to the patient population described in the departments description of services section of the policy manual.
- Demonstrates and promotes customer satisfaction.
Education:
- Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from accredited program.
- Certification by American Speech and Hearing Association or be eligible to be certified.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency once fully licensed
- Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as a Speech Therapist. Employee may be within their Clinical Fellowship year if able to meet ASHA requirements for completion.
