Minimum Qualifications
Holds a Michigan Physical Therapy License
DPT degree or higher
Three years of clinical experience in physical therapy
Teaching experience in an academic physical therapy program, which may include experience as a clinical instructor or clinical site coordinator
Demonstrates compatibility with current faculty
Supports the goals, mission, vision and philosophy of the program
Perceived fit with the needs of the program

The School of Health Sciences serves about 1750 undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-professional students through a singular model of advancing community-engaged translational relationships and connecting theory to best practices. Building upon the foundations of the natural and behavioral sciences we are organized departmentally into four themes: Public and Environmental Wellness, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, and Human Movement Science. The Department of Human Movement Science (HMS) offers the bachelor (BS), clinical professional (DPT), and post-professional degrees and certificates. Our programs span exercise science (EXS), physical therapy (PT), and uniquely, orthotics and prosthetics (O&P). We operate multiple teaching/research labs available to faculty members, for PT (Acute Care Simulation, Musculoskeletal, Neurorehabilitation); for EXS (Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics Ergonomics Abilities Research, Strength and Fitness); and for O&P (Orthotics and Prosthetics Fabrication).
