Occupational Therapist

2. Position Title: Occupational Therapist

3. Grade Level: K - 12

4. Teaching Certificate Required: Valid Indiana OT License

5. Previous Teaching Experience Required: Experience in school settings

6. General Description of Position Duties:

• Assess and develop individualized therapy plans for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student development.
• Conduct evaluations to determine student progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Provide direct therapy services and monitor outcomes.
• Implement interventions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.

1. Special Skills, Training or Aptitudes Required or Desire:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Indiana Occupational Therapy license.
• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed records and documentation.

1. Physical and Mental Efforts:

• This position requires a high level of physical and mental endurance
• Sitting in an office/classroom environment, performing tasks on a computer or other technical devices.
• Frequent standing, particularly for sustained periods of time
• Frequent walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one part of the building to another.
• Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas to colleagues and/or students accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Ability to hear and listen to detailed information through oral communication.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
• Ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.
