Comprehensive Therapy and Rehab provides high quality physical therapy services to those individuals who receive medical benefits through the Energy Workers Program. Seeking a physical therapist with an Alabama license or eligibility to join our team in our brand new, beautifully equipped clinic in Barnwell, SC. Responsibilities would include physical therapy evaluations, treatments, documentation, and coordination with team members including case managers, respiratory therapists, and authorization specialists. Some experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred, however mentoring is available. Job Description: The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing a treatment program for patients referred by physicians. This is an outpatient position. In this role, the Physical Therapist will be the supervisor for the physical therapy assistants and front office staff when the Lead Physical Therapist is not in the building. The Physical Therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff. The physical therapist will report to the Lead Physical Therapist or the Director of Therapy Services if no Lead is in place. Duties: Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists. Reviews patients functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and incorporates participation by significant others whenever it seems appropriate. Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care. Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients functional goals. Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes. Practices hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans. Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signatures. Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature. Provides direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community. Qualifications: Graduate of APTA or CAPTE approved physical therapy program. State licensure Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association Physical Requirements: Duties require standing and walking. Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
