This critical role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our hospital by performing specialized floor care and general cleaning duties. The Floor Specialist is responsible for maintaining a sanitary, orderly, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors, with a primary focus on floor care in all hospital areas. Key Responsibilities: Perform thorough cleaning of hospital rooms and areas including ceilings, walls, floors, vents, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment using appropriate tools and chemicals. Strip, wax, and maintain hard floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets. Clean and disinfect restrooms and other patient and non-patient areas. Handle and dispose of trash and biohazardous waste in accordance with safety protocols. Safely use and store a variety of cleaning chemicals and supplies. Communicate clearly and courteously with hospital staff, patients, and visitors. Assist with laundry tasks and other cleaning duties as needed. Flexibility in scheduling weekends may be required. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience: Prior commercial cleaning experience in commercial buildings required; hospital experience is a plus. Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Additional Requirements: Must carry current vehicle insurance and maintain proof on file. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, vacuums, washers/dryers). Comfortable working in environments exposed to bodily fluids, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
