Description:
POSITION: Powers Music School seeks an experienced and energetic Board-Certified music therapist with outstanding abilities to work with students of all ages. Currently, Powers employs one full-time music therapist who offers weekly individual sessions as well as offsite group work. This is an ideal opportunity for a creative, self-motivated individual to join and help grow a vibrant department. The ideal candidate will have experience with and a preference for working with young children, people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and neurodivergent students.
AVAILABILITY: Mondays and/or Saturdays- abination of onsite work at Powers and potential offsite work with one of our partners in Peabody and/or Chelsea.
DUTIES:
In consultation with our Director of Music Therapy, develop, plan, and lead group sessions (on or off-site) based onmunity need
Lead individual sessions with students of all ages and abilities
Regularlyplete session documentation and progress reports
Attend annual faculty meeting & open house
Explore opportunities for enrollment growth
Option to have monthly one on one supervision meetings
START: Summer or Fall 2025
COMPENSATION: $52-60
Qualifications:
Board certification from Certification Board for Music Therapists
Documented work experience of at least 1-3 years preferred
Ability to supervise practicum students
Effectivemunication skills with clients, families, and colleagues
Demonstrate knowledge of and appropriate and meaningful therapeutic techniques and experiences
Strong proficiency in multiple instruments - voice, guitar, piano, percussion, etc., as per the American Music Therapy Association Professional Competencies
Reliable source of transportation preferred
