IMC is currently hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehab Services team on a Full Time basis. Underthe general supervision of the Director of Rehab Services, the Occupational Therapistwill evaluate patient needs, develop appropriate treatment plans, beresponsible for organizing and conducting medically necessary occupationaltherapy to restore function, prevent disability, decrease pain, and promotehealing following disease, injury or sickness. The Occupational therapist will help the patient reach his/her maximumpotential and assume a place in society while learning to live within thelimits of his/her capabilities. Thiswill be done in a variety of settings including outpatient, and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge andcompetency to provide care based on physical, psycho-social, education level,and safety concerns for neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult andgeriatric populations.

WORK HOURS: Scheduleswill fluctuate significantly based on patient volume and needs but normal hoursof delivery of occupational therapy services will be 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree inOccupational therapy from an accredited school.
  • Current valid Occupational TherapyLicense in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by LSBME.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Successful completion of long termclinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accreditedOT school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient, outpatient , orNursing home.
  • Knowledge of OT delivery throughoutpatient lifespan, neonate through geriatric.
  • Knowledge of outpatient therapy servicesincluding delivery of modalities.
  • Knowledge of acute OT for inpatientservices.
  • Knowledge of home health OT services.

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate patients and treat patients
  • Monitor and assess patients
  • Supervise delivery of treatment to patients
  • Reassess patients
  • Assist director of rehab with development of policies and procedures
  • Assist with scheduling of patients
  • Documentation of patient care
  • Assist with daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services
