Recreation Specialist

The City of Chandler Neighborhood Resources Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Specialist for the Housing Youth program. This is a regular, fulltime position with benefits. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours on a 5x8 schedule (Monday-Friday) during CUSD academic calendar and academic intersessions, and a 4x10 schedule (Monday-Thursday) during the summer.

Who we are
The Neighborhood Resources Housing & Redevelopment Division is the City of Chandler Public Housing Authority which oversees and manages Public Housing units and the Housing Choice Voucher: Section 8 program. Our primary focus is to provide affordable rental housing for low-income households. The Housing Youth Program serves the children and youth living in Chandlers four Public Housing family sites.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for youth development and experience developing and implementing youth programing. We are seeking a creative and self-motivated individual, with at least one (1) year of experience working with youth who leads by example to join our inclusive team.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a youth recreation or adult activity program; and
Valid Arizonas Drivers License with acceptable driving record; and
First Aid and CPR/AED certifications may be required depending on assignment; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desirable Qualifications
Three (3) years college preparation in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field.

The position available is regular full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
