Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator / Medical Assistant is a hybrid position with a primary focus on administrative support, including switchboard operations, scheduling, mail processing, and general office tasks. This role also serves as a licensed Medical Assistant to provide clinical backup such as medication observation, vitals collection, and urinalysis as needed. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing front-office professionalism with occasional hands-on clinical support.

RESPONSIBLITIES
Administrative Duties (Primary Focus):
- Act as the first point of contact at the front desk—greeting clients, managing the switchboard, and directing visitors appropriately.
- Answer and route incoming calls professionally and efficiently.
- Process and distribute incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
- Maintain client records and documentation (e.g., medical records, test results, program documents).
- Schedule and coordinate client appointments across multiple programs.
- Order and manage office and clinical supplies.
Clinical Support Duties (As Needed):
- Observe and document self-administration of medications per agency protocol.
- Monitor and document vitals and blood glucose levels.
- Observe, collect and handle urinalysis samples.
- Coordinate with providers and pharmacies for medication refills and updates.
- Ensure accurate and complete charting of client interactions and medication records.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of administrative or front desk experience in a medical, behavioral health, or human services setting preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards.
- Bilingual-English/Spanish required
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
- Medical Assistant Certification required and must be active in Washington State.
