- Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.
Responsibilities
- The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement treatment plans designed to help clients improve their ability to perform daily living and work-related tasks.
- Responsible for the provision of and documentation of patient care.
- Participates in the clinical evaluation and formulation of treatment plans and goals.
- Provides and documents occupational therapy treatment to patients.
- Supervises assigned staff.
- Interacts and practices in collaboration with other professionals.
- Must comply with the Texas Occupational Therapy Practice Acts and Rules.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Texas state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a COTA.
- Experience in acute care rehabilitation.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet individual patient needs.
