  • Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.

Responsibilities

  • The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement treatment plans designed to help clients improve their ability to perform daily living and work-related tasks.
  • Responsible for the provision of and documentation of patient care.
  • Participates in the clinical evaluation and formulation of treatment plans and goals.
  • Provides and documents occupational therapy treatment to patients.
  • Supervises assigned staff.
  • Interacts and practices in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Must comply with the Texas Occupational Therapy Practice Acts and Rules.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.

  • Texas state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a COTA.
  • Experience in acute care rehabilitation.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet individual patient needs.
